Effects of cavities in the dentin-pulp complex

By:Krissia Blanco Rodríguez.
The dentin pulp complex is the close relationship between the odontoblasts and dentin. When this complex is infected tissues defend themselves against invading organisms. However, if the infection is not eradicated through natural processes or operative procedures, microorganisms invade the dentin-pulp complex by overcoming the defenses and causing pulpal disease, and infect the pulp chamber and root canals.

It is said that in the dentin pulp complex can be given certain alterations caused by caries.

Effects that may occur because of caries
in the dentin-pulp complex

Other results can be taken for the purpose for which it gives dentin at the pulp complex are:

  • over irregular branching
  • irregular thickening, thickening of the nerve fibers, irregular thickening or thickening is considered to be the result of irritation. If pulp inflammation or abscess formation, came a detachment of the nerves, occasional irregular branching abundant nerve thickening or severe irregular thickening of the nerve fibers, the coils of the nerve fibers.
  • rupture of fiber bundles
  • movement to the periphery of the pulp tissue reticular atrophy.
  • In the pulp with only hyperemia (is an increase in irrigation to an organ or tissue), minor bleeding
  • The neural network is seen to react sensitively to the irritations that occur during the caries process. Tooth decay is one of the first signs so that we can say that the nerve fibers were affected. The onset of pathological innervation as described in this document, where the proliferation, irritation phenomena, or even disintegration are associated with various degree, is probably typical of decay and could be due to irritation of long duración.La complexity the pathomorphologic when giving the appearance of the innervation of the cavities could be one reason why it is so easy to diagnose the pathological condition of the pulp by clinical signs.

Using this information, and professional future I have a responsibility to foster in people the importance of maintaining good oral health.
