This is a set of splints or aligners that are placed in a progressive and they move teeth to a desired location. These splints are applying forces on the teeth to change their position, just as you would a bracket.
At first it makes a mold of the patient's mouth in its initial state and is conducted to study the patient's mouth. The data obtained in this study were fed into a computer, so that in a virtual form, the teeth are placed progressively to the ideal situation should have in the mouth.
The teeth are moved progressively digitally, resulting in a variable number of moves to achieve the desired position. Every slight movement is recorded and from it a sophisticated computer system using a splint or laser aligner shapes, resulting in a splint each time you travel is required. In this way we obtain a number of splints. The number of aligners varies for each patient need and is dependent on the magnitude of the movement that is desired. The more complex the treatment, the greater number of splints are required, and the longer the treatment, as with the brackets.
The first splint that is placed corresponds to the first movement to be performed. Once placed, the teeth are going to adapt to the shape of the slab within approximately 2 weeks, at which it passes to the next cast.
This system has some limitations so that everyone can make use of it. The problems of severe malocclusions may require combination treatment with braces or corrective surgery. It is the dentist who has to discern whether the patient is fit or not.
